7-Day Blogging Challenge: My Reflection

I started this 7-day blogging challenge a few days ago to push myself to write. I know I haven’t been very consistent on this blog. This has really affected me and I wanted things to change.

I write this blog at a time when I’m experiencing physical and mental exhaustion.

I just completed an article this evening for work and a couple of hours ago, I played some table tennis with my brother. It was so tiring but I was glad I got to do something physical. It has been a while since I exercised.

Back to the topic of this blog. So today, I will reflect about my 7-day blogging challenge. I know its pretty early to talk about my experience doing this challenge but its my first time doing it and I felt like talking about it. Also, I’m about to go to bed and I wanted to write something really short today.

How the Blogging Challenge Went Down

These are the things that went down during my blogging challenge. So stay tuned!

1. If you set your mind to something, you can achieve it

So the first three days were really awesome. I learned that if I set my mind to something, I can achieve it. In these past three days, publishing an article a day was at the back of my mind. Whether that’s if I was sitting down to write my to-do list or take a short break after work – publishing a blog post before the day ends was always on my mind.

2. There’s no room for excuses

This challenge made me realize, I have no room to make excuses. I’ve always made them though because I felt like there were things other than blogging I should be doing. Just the act of writing now is a testimony to this. Today, I felt like really lying down in bed and perhaps shutting my eyes for a few minutes. But I told my brain: “No more excuses. Get to work.” It doesn’t matter whether you have nothing to write about just write.

3. It’s hard staying motivated but the effort matters

From this challenge, I learned that it’s hard to stay motivated. Well, I think it’s different for everyone. For me, when it comes to sports, I always feel motivated to do better e.g. to perfect my back strokes, and so forth. Writing is different for me. Writing does not require you to move your body a lot except your fingers for tying and writing. That’s pretty much it. And for me, staying in one place with my thoughts and a computer in front of me for hours is less motivating. I just don’t know how some people do it. But it amazes me.

Wrapping Up

So, you’ve finally reached the end of this blog. I thank you for giving this blog a read. I hope you found this reflection motivating or interesting.

Have you ever joined a blogging challenge or writing challenge before? How was your experience? I would really love to hear your thoughts in the comment section down below.

  1. Omooooooo x100000 (please don’t ask me what that means)😂😂😂
Sometimes I even forget I own a blog🙈🙈🙈 and when I remember I will just be like “haaaaa! Is this how we are going to be doing it?”
I thank God for the gift of people who constantly remind and encourage me.

I have never joined a blogging challenge but I have a few bloggers whom I am yet to submit my collaboration article to (God help me)

With writing sometimes I feel overwhelmed, especially since my blog is tailored around sharing life experiences. I am always worried about revealing too much or not.
When it involves passing information that could help others avert danger, I always do anonymous with other bloggers. That way no issues from village people😁

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

      Hi Rachel,

I’m also trying to shares some life experiences on this blog as well. Just this morning I was thinking about that without revealing too much or getting on the wrong side of people. Or is it just me overthinking things. This is something I am yet to figure out as I’m running this blog. I wish you the best in your collaboration article. Can’t wait to read it soon. And I hope we can have one together.
